anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.”

We worked many years to achieve professional success with dual careers while raising five sons. Along the way, we were looking to external things to find happiness and bring peace to our hectic lives. Ultimately, through crisis, suffering, hard work, and healing, we learned that balance and joy have to first come from within.

We discovered that more basic things like connecting with others, growing in spirituality, and taking care of ourselves are what truly nourish our souls and bring us joy. We are still works in progress, individually and in our relationship, but our journey inspired us to find a way to reach out to others in pain.

Even if you feel irretrievably broken, individually or in relationship with another, we know that there is hope and healing on the other side. In fact, many individuals and couples experience "post traumatic growth"; In other words, not only can you survive a crisis, you can actually thrive in the aftermath—growing stronger and discovering more joy and fulfillment than you imagined.

We are both Licensed Professional Counselors trained in evidence-based theories for assessment and treatment of trauma and the effects of trauma that sometimes produce compulsive behaviors and addiction.  As a Board Certified Addiction Medicine physician, Dr. Gulde brings both mental health and medical perspectives to the disease of addiction. We both have specialized training in working with the betrayal trauma often experienced by the partner of an addict.   We also offer the unique opportunity for couples to work with us as a married treatment team -- couple-to-couple interaction, compassion and therapy.

We would be honored to provide support and encouragement for your journey.

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE

Please note: You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.  Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call us at 210.468.3202.
