INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

We offer individual therapy appointments to those looking for support with the following issues:
In addition to traditional therapy, we offer “walk and talk” therapy, weather permitting. We are fortunate to be located along the banks of the San Antonio River, with scenic walking trails a few steps from our office. If you would like to get out in nature and incorporate leisurely walking into your therapeutic experience, we will be happy to conduct our individual therapy sessions while we walk.

COUPLES THERAPY

At Take 2 Counseling, we use an Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) approach to couples counseling, which has been shown through research to produce the best outcomes for troubled relationships. This is an experiential type of therapy, meaning we will work with the two of you to identify the negative patterns you are stuck in, and practice ways of reaching out and responding to each other in real time during our sessions together.

“EFT understands that love is not just about sentiment and sex. It is an ancient, wired-in survival code designed to keep a few people you can really count on close so they are there when you are vulnerable and need support.” — Sue Johnson, Ph.D.

In our work with you as a couple, we will not get caught up in the content of your disagreements, but rather we will explore the unmet attachment needs that lie beneath the pain of disconnection. When these unmet needs can be identified and shared, true intimacy takes root, and provides a secure base from which the relationship can flourish going forward, even when there are the inevitable temporary ruptures.

Contact us today to learn how to get past the pain of disconnection and start building lasting intimacy in your relationship.
